Cold brew coffee is amazing. The flavor of cold brew coffee is less acidic and more fruity than when you make your coffee with hot water. It also has more caffeine than traditionally brewed coffee. I love cold brew coffee. And the best thing of all is that you can easily make cold brew coffee yourself.

WHAT IS COLD BREW COFFEE?

Traditional coffee is made by pouring hot water over ground coffee beans in a filter and collecting the liquid that slowly drips out — or pouring the hot water into a container with ground coffee and letting it steep a bit and then pouring out the filtered liquid — or some other way. There are a lot of different ways of making traditional coffee but the primary thing is heat. The water is heated and then applied to the ground coffee beans.

Cold brew coffee is made without hot water. Instead you simply put the ground coffee beans into a container and pour in cold or room temperature water and let it sit for 12 to 24 hours. Then you filter out the ground beans and you have cold brew coffee.

Cold brew coffee comes out much stronger than hot brewed coffee with a much higher caffeine level. In fact the product is actually concentrated coffee — you don’t want to drink it undiluted. Some people like to pour the concentrated cold brew coffee over ice cubes and drink it as a refreshing…
