I have been discussing this issue with some friends who do not live in NYC. Nothing we think matters. Only New Yorkers matter. Traditionally New Yorkers have seen NYC as the center of the universe. An indispensable place. If they wake up one day and realize they no longer need NYC the rest of us sure as hell won't.
