Lucky Coin
PROMPT: Abnormal vision into future
Rachel was walking along and saw a coin lying in the curb. Her father had always said, “Never be too lazy to pick up a lost coin; it will always be lucky for you!” So she bent down and picked up the coin. At first she thought it was a quarter, but when she looked at it more carefully she realized it was something else. There was an eagle on one side, and on the other was an image of a standing woman with the word FORTUNA above her head. As she brushed the dirt off the coin she realized it seemed heavy for its size and was bright gold. Hmmmm. It was lucky for her after all.
As Rachel was holding the coin, she looked up and saw a car coming towards her. Then she saw two visions simultaneously: one was her lying in a pool of her own blood exactly where she was standing, and the other image was her standing three feet to the right. She jumped three feet to the right, and the car passed harmlessly past her (at least harmless for her), and crashed into a large concrete column. The driver was a woman who had been doing something on her cellphone who was not wearing her safety belt. The driver went flying through the windshield and crashed head first into the concrete column. What was left of the poor girl was not a pretty sight.
“Well at least it wasn’t me!” Rachel thought.
Rachel carefully put the coin in her pocket and kept walking.
