We need to get back to work — There will never be a zero risk option.
I am willing to give our benevolent leaders the benefit of the doubt that when they instituted this lockdown they did so with a sincere desire to do good. There was a lot of fear and very little information… no one really knew what was going to happen.
Now we know two things:
- the virus is not nearly as deadly as we initially feared, and
- the lockdown has been ineffective at stopping the spread.

The biggest problem everyone faced was the lack of reliable data. In short no one knew the denominator, that is the number of people who actually had the virus, and thus any death rate was unreliable and likely overstated. It seems quite obvious that the number of people who had the virus, and perhaps showed little or no symptoms, was grossly under counted. The number of people who have been infected by the virus now appears to be a much higher number than previously thought, thus making the death rate much lower.
That is a good thing I suppose. The bad thing is that while we were all in lockdown trying to stop the spread of the virus the virus paid no attention and spread anyway. The coronavirus appears to be very…
