PROMPT: Return of body

There are some people who like cats. Some people who like dogs. Some people who like both, and some that like none.

Keren was in the last group. She did not like cats or dogs. In fact she did not like anything that lived. Only the dead brought her some amusement and even then it was always very short term.

Keren was a necromancer. Although that is not exactly what she was nor was it the nature of her abilities. It was more of a vocation for her.

Keren had always had a certain ability; the ability wish things into reality. Sometimes they were small things like making a childhood tormentor suffer, finding enough money to buy a new dress, or perhaps even exacting vengeance against the cruel and heartless. As she got older the things she desired became bigger. She wearied of the small things; instead she wanted love, control, money, power, etc. As time passed even the big things lost her interest. Perhaps it was because that which comes too easy is never really appreciated.

The one big thing she never lost interest in was raising the dead. The first time was her gran… the poor old woman died of a lingering death and Keren wished her back to life. Her gran had been the only one who had ever been kind to her. When her gran died, she simply thought about how much she would miss her and how much she…
